Our mission is to cultivate Christ's kingdom one conversation at a time. Kingdom is a word we take from the Bible. The kingdom of God is, unsurprisingly, where God reigns. The Kingdom of God is where God's will is done. But where does that happen? We do see real love in the world. We do see real beauty. We do see real joy. But, we don't see God's will done everywhere. That is why Jesus prayed "Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." We are convinced that the kingdom of God comes through Jesus-the one who is called Christ. So, our mission means that we work to prepare space for heaven to come to earth...for Christ's kingdom to come. Our worship gatherings are focused on acknowledging the king of this kingdom. We meditate on the character of God that we see in Jesus. We confess, we make an acknowledgement, of God's patient loving goodness and right to reign in all creation. We literally worship God for who God is and what God has done. We commit ourselves to living according to God's will. We let go of our resistance to being the people God made us to be. This is what we come together to do in our worship gatherings. |
